Aaliyah Archives: News
On the 28th July 2013 marks exactly 3 years since I launched my Aaliyah site. 🙊❤ It often feels longer, since I’ve come across the most amazing friends from #TeamAaliyah. But I would just like to thank all those who support my dedication and passion for an amazing woman who is dearly missed, and still remembered after 15 years. Before the site, I was going through a lot of trials and tribulations outside of the ‘social network’ realm, where some people like to thrive on negativity, not realising that there are much bigger issues in this world to be worrying about. The year I lost my Grandmother was the same year I decided to create #AaliyahArchives.
Aaliyah was the only person whom I had (and still do) looked up to as a role model, and she truly was a 'positive motivating force within my life’. It was a way to channel and express myself through words, imagery as well as having a distraction to keep myself busy and responsible for something. To this very day I’m so grateful that all the hardwork and late nights were all worth it, and I wouldn’t change it for anything!
To celebrate this anniversary launch, the site address has now officially been named www.aaliyaharchives.com instead of theaaliyaharchives.blogspot.co.uk. I thought long and hard about this, and felt it was the perfect time to make things more 'official', by having ownership of something which was created from scratch. Please note that older posts (including the old site name) will automatically redirect you to the new address. But for future reference for anyone who wishes to source anything, please refer to the new address as the main address. Thank you and one love! Peace! ❤

Aaliyah Archives Celebrates its 2nd Year Anniversary!
So…I was planning on what I would write for my blogs 2 year Anniversary/Birthday which is today, and to my pleasant surprise the lovely @legacy_of_aaliyah made me this beautiful edit to mark the occasion. Thank you so much dear! Definitely was not expecting this at all. It’s hard to believe that 2 years today was when I decided to dedicate a site in memory of our beloved #BabyGirl. I remember for so long being inspired by many other #Aaliyah fan pages prior to starting out. After years and years of waiting, this was the day where I had an epiphany moment, the day I decided to become #AaliyahArchives. I thought long and hard about this name, since there were so many other fan page names out there. I wanted something simple, yet deep and meaningful. #AaliyahArchives felt very appropriate, since the whole essence was to archive lost footage, rare images and to just keep Aaliyahs’s memory and legacy alive. It also looks back into the past, which essentially are what ‘archives’ are all about. To this very day I am truly grateful and blessed to have made the friendships I have. Most importantly….I appreciate all the loyal readers of my blog, without your love and positive feedback, I dont know what I would do without you. Not only do I do this out of love for Aaliyah, but also to share this love with #TeamAaliyah. You are all like family to me, so thank you guys for just being the beautiful individuals that God created you as. One love ♥

The Aaliyah Archives: News
Hey guys! Hope all my readers out there are good :o) This is just a quick shout out, since I very seldom get a chance to. But I would like to thank everyone for all their support and love. I appreciate all the emails which never go unnoticed. What started out as something small, I never could of imagined to have become what it is today. So first and foremost (I'm so delayed on this but 'it's whatever' as Babygirl would say! ;) lol) The Aaliyah Archives celebrates it's 1 year and 2 month Anniversary since it's start up. As you all know, I'm a die hard fan of Aaliyah, so for me, this is just my way of giving back to The Haughtons as well as keeping her legacy alive.
I have also come across many lovely Aaliyah fan pages/blogs who have shown nothing but love and respect since I've started this blog. I would love to list all of you out there, but it would probably take me forever to do so! lol! Y'all know who you are though ;) so I would like to say a big thank you to my #TeamAaliyah Familia, who I love unconditionally :o)
This year has been a pretty tough year, but one I am very much grateful for. With the good, there have also been the bad and then the straight up ugly! lol! I embrace everything I encounter, and that includes haters, frauds, rude people etc... Anyhoo, I have a lot of big plans and ideas for this blog, some of which are so exciting that I can't wait to share with you all! I truly feel blessed and it's all thanks to you guys. One love ♥

The Aaliyah Archives: News
Now, before I discuss Timbalands new album, and how both Aaliyah and Static Major relate to this topic, here is a little background knowledge behind his upcoming album for this year, and the reasons as to why he changed the name. As all of you Timbaland fans know, his fourth studio album which was originally going to be titled Shock Value lll, but later changed in 2013 to Textbook Timbo during his tour with Jay-Z, this no doubt became literally a 'shock' to most people out there, but Timbaland himself explains the reason why...
Timbaland: " This is 'New Tim.' I've done some changing. I am much more in touch with me. ... I was feeling myself a little too much. When you're from the streets, you just don’t want to get close to people. You’re in a different world that you just aren’t used to. Like, I’m cool, get away from me."
It seems to me as if we may be getting our old Timbo back again. Personally for me, since listening to his production on Justin Timberlakes 20/20 Experience album, it has clearly shown how he is heading towards the right path musically. I have no doubt that Timbo's new album will assure to have us surprised in a good way. Now you all may be wondering, so how does Aaliyah and Static fit into the picture?
Well, courtesy of +Textbook Timbo for sharing this important information, as it has come to my attention that Timbaland's younger brother Sebastian revealed via his Twitter account that a song called 'Last Nite (Interlude)' will be shown as a special tribute and dedication to both our beloved Babygirl and Static Major. Both of whom were very close friends of Timbo. Sebastian also stated and confirmed that at one point, the tribute was so moving that it had everyone in the studio teary eyed with emotion. Wow, now that's some emotional stuff right there! I can only wonder and wait patiently as to what this song will sound like. All Aaliyah and Static Major fans would most definitely wanna hear this song for sure! :o)

Aaliyah Illustrations: By Hayden Williams
Now, as much as I am known for sharing music by someone who was so talented and special in her own right, I am also one for sharing talent of those who rightly deserve the recognition. Some of you may know him as Hayden Williams, who is a well known UK Fashion Illustrator and Designer. I have admired his work for a long time now and what's even better is that he too is also a big fan of Aaliyah, which makes me like him even more! (No bias of course! :o) lol) All I can say is wow! His drawings are absolutely stunning of our beloved Babygirl! :o) You can check out more of his stuff via Blogger, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. Enjoy everyone! :o)
