Aaliyah: Rare Photo

πŸ”via Manny B Presents via Facebook. This was posted on Aaliyah’s birthday back in 2015. I remember seeing a cropped out version when we first came across it, but I see that this is the original picture. Original sources are very important so that we can trace it back to the story and have better, high quality images! So yes it’s good to see, but crediting original sources is very important y'all, so whenever you guys tag, make sure it’s from a true source. That goes with anything! ✌🏽❤

Amorphous: 22 EP (Aaliyah Tribute)

If you haven't already, be sure to check out a very special EP mix from Amorphous, who created this beautiful tribute in memory of our beloved Babygirl. As you all know, I'm a big fan of anything creative, so I thought this would be nice to share with everyone. For a more in depth look, here's a detailed description from Amorphous himself...

"It's been fourteen years since we've lost our beautiful angel, and somehow, I still find solace and comfort listening to her soothing voice. I was only four when she passed away, yet I was already a huge fan. My brother went out of his way to purchase two copies of the 'Aaliyah' album the day it came out, on July 17th, 2001. Aaliyah has impacted my life in tremendous ways. She's pushed me to be more positive, a better producer, and overall a better person. I only thought it was right that I do something big this year.
So here you have it! The '22' EP, a collection of remixes and original tracks all dedicated to and/or sampling her music. Featuring my critically acclaimed remix of 'Rock The Boat', '22' boasts club ready remixes of 'One In A Million', and '4 Page letter'. Along with remixes, including the Timbaland inspired 'We Need A Resolution' remix, the EP also includes original tracks, such as the house banger 'January', the experimental '1979' and 'Dreams', as well as the soundtrack-esque '2001' - a track dedicated to the year we lost our beloved angel. Worked on this for about a year now, truly from the bottom of my heart. Hope you guys enjoy."
You can listen to the whole collection below here... Enjoy! ;)

Aaliyah Archives: News

Missy keeping it real as always. Facts only! ;) Most do not realise the influence Aaliyah had and still has to this day. I always say this, but no matter where I go or look, I see Aaliyah's influence everywhere be it in the music industry, fashion industry, billboards etc... The beauty of her inspiration is that she inspires both men and women. Now that's a pretty huge impact that only some are able to achieve. So thank you Missy for schooling these folks who don't know! :o)

Aaliyah Archives: News

For those who are not aware please check out the new launch of http://www.aaliyah.com/ You won't be disappointed! ;)

"I stay true to myself and my style, and I am always pushing myself to be aware of that and be original."

I love the fact at how the main site Aaliyah.com has the very same quote I dedicate my blog to, as well as everyday life. To me, this quote defined everything that Aaliyah stood for. And she did so in the way she carried herself physically and mentally. Definitely identical to none...

Aaliyah Archives: News (EXCLUSIVE)

So as you guys know, I recently shared with you all some video snippets from producer Eric Seats who worked with the red album crew. He was kind enough to share his original working files from Aaliyah's Rock The Boat and It's Whatever, plus and added bonus of a never before heard official remix of Rock The Boat, which was created back in 2001! Wow! All I can say is that this sounds really current! Hardly surprising considering how Aaliyah's last album still sounds fresh to this day. All the producers on this album really knew what they were doing, and it shows since they have created longevity within their body of work.

Now we all know that this year has been a tough one for all TRUE Aaliyah fans out there, with everything that has been going on with this 'film drama'. I refuse to even acknowledge this ignorance on my blog anymore, since I just wanna keep it drama and negative free. I began this journey of blogging through positivity and it shall remain that way! :o)

With every bad moment, some good always tends to prevail over, and I am so excited to announce that all the producers from Aaliyah's self titled red album, will be uniting to make a special tribute on her 36th Birthday next year! How dope is that right? :D I have already shared with you a couple remixes which have come to surface already, so my guesses are that a remix album might be in the works. Ok, so I am not one for blowing my own trumpet, as I am humble as they can get, but I remember ages ago speaking to Eric Seats and mentioned the idea of a remix album and how all the producers from that album should come together. Here is the conversation we had which you can view below...

As you can see Eric agreed :o) I was also being a little cheeky towards the end! Lol! Can't blame a girl for trying though! ;) To hear Aaliyah's accapella on her red album would be amazing though! :D With that being said, I am glad the man has stuck by his word, because now, he's putting everything into action! Woooo! :D Seats also mentioned that he is planning to put the Rock The Boat (remix) version on his Sidooo Vol 2 album. So be sure to peep that out in the near future. If you still need more convincing, here's another conversation with the likes of J-Dub, Bud'da and Smoke E. Digglera talking about this special Birthday tribute :o)

And here's another one where Eric Seats himself, confirms this with one of my favorite Aaliyah fan pages Maximum Aaliyah ;) 2015 definitely plans on being a good year for all Aaliyah fans! Are you ready? #TeamAaliyah ;) :D
