Only one day to go till Lili's Birthday, and I couldn't help but to start the Birthday celebrations early! ;) Here is a special dedication and tribute to our beloved Babygirl titled 'DANA' from my boy John Taylxr, who released 11 tracks in honor of our Queen's 37th Birthday tomorrow! 

I'm so grateful to of had the priviledge of getting to know you, and would like to say that this is a beautiful dedication for Aaliyah, one which she would of been very proud of, as I am too! :o) Having just listened to it all, I can tell that you have taken a lot of time, hardwork and effort into every single track! There are so many favorites to choose from, but I particularly love the Intro, Try Again, Rock The Boat and We Need A Resolution! The creative process of mixing those beats is just too dope! Thank you so much for sharing with all of #TeamAaliyah. 

I would also like to give a special shout out to my amazing sis Legacy Of Aaliyah for creating yet another amazing edit! Love the album cover hun! ;) I can see why you were chosen to be a part of such a special project! :o) But without further a due...peep the entire track list below, and happy listening! :D

The Balance Room Interview with Eric Seats: The Making Of 'Rock The Boat'

As you all know, Aaliyah's birthday is approaching in the next few days, where we normally come across some amazing rare images, tribute mixes, videos, artwork etc... All of which I always look forward to seeing! :o) So I was merely just browsing away, and happened to come across a post Eric Seats posted via his Instagram page. Soon as I found out it was Aaliyah related, y'all know I was mad hype! lol :D And of course, I wanted to share this with you all!

I have to say...whilst listening to this interview I did get rather emotional when he talked about his memories on Aaliyah and Static Major. However, it was also quite refreshing to learn more about Mr. Seats as an individual alone, who I can honestly say is the most nicest, most humblest person I have come to know. I can definitely see why Aaliyah wanted to work with you! A big thank you for sharing your memories with us all and The Balance Room podcast for having the pleasure of interviewing Mr.Seats. Amorphous: 22 EP (Aaliyah Tribute)

If you haven't already, be sure to check out a very special EP mix from Amorphous, who created this beautiful tribute in memory of our beloved Babygirl. As you all know, I'm a big fan of anything creative, so I thought this would be nice to share with everyone. For a more in depth look, here's a detailed description from Amorphous himself...

"It's been fourteen years since we've lost our beautiful angel, and somehow, I still find solace and comfort listening to her soothing voice. I was only four when she passed away, yet I was already a huge fan. My brother went out of his way to purchase two copies of the 'Aaliyah' album the day it came out, on July 17th, 2001. Aaliyah has impacted my life in tremendous ways. She's pushed me to be more positive, a better producer, and overall a better person. I only thought it was right that I do something big this year.

So here you have it! The '22' EP, a collection of remixes and original tracks all dedicated to and/or sampling her music. Featuring my critically acclaimed remix of 'Rock The Boat', '22' boasts club ready remixes of 'One In A Million', and '4 Page letter'. Along with remixes, including the Timbaland inspired 'We Need A Resolution' remix, the EP also includes original tracks, such as the house banger 'January', the experimental '1979' and 'Dreams', as well as the soundtrack-esque '2001' - a track dedicated to the year we lost our beloved angel. Worked on this for about a year now, truly from the bottom of my heart. Hope you guys enjoy."
