In honour of Aaliyah's 42nd Birthday we would like to announce the launch and revamp of our fan-site aaliyaharchives.com. Established in 2013, our main goal was to update fans on all of the latest news, updates, rares etc... involving Baby Girl. Eight years going strong, we have continued this journey where we wanted to thank all of #TeamAaliyah by sharing a special treat which we all hope you will enjoy and love. There are many features on our new site to explore at your leisure including an interactive timeline, image gallery, video gallery (which will be updated daily) and forum space for all fans to interact like old times. A fusion of both old skool and new skool, with a modern twist.

Over the years there have been many Aaliyah fan-sites from across the globe during the 90's up until the 2000's onwards. In today's world, we rarely see that many, and for Aaliyah we all know that her legacy has not been handled as best as it could be. Just as Aaliyah herself which means "The Highest Most Exalted One, The Best." Her very name deserves the very BEST honour and respect, so we decided to give Aaliyah's legacy the due diligence it deserves. 

We have also teamed up with affiliates @aaliyahhaughton, @aaliyahalways, @aaliyah_spain and @weloveaaliyahhaughton. Thank you lovelies for your continued support, help and most importantly friendship. We look forward to sharing this journey with you during a time of uncertainty, and hope this can bring fans together in a positive light. Most importantly we would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Aaliyah! Thank you for continuing to inspire from generations to generations. Today we celebrate your life and never ending legacy.

Late in the episode, X talks about witnessing the beautiful, warm spirit of Aaliyah when he worked with her on the movie Romeo Must Die.

Such a funny interview! 🤣 Really enjoyed this! I've always loved the sincerity and honesty of DMX. Definitely a must watch!

Aaliyah Archives News: Rest In Peace Eric Ferrell

 

Heartbroken to even post this, as the news still hasn't sunk in 😔🤧😪💔....Unfortunately it is with great sadness to confirm that make-up artist and glam squad member @ericferrellmakeup has passed away on November 6th, 2020. Cause of death has yet to be confirmed by his family, but we send our deepest condolences out to all those who were near and dear to our beloved Eric Ferrell.

Words cannot fathom how I feel right now as I write this. I am truly at a loss for words as this was so unexpected. Eric...you truly were a kind hearted, beautiful spirit and it's no wonder Aaliyah wanted to have you around her, having so much trust in you to absolutely slay her for any event and music video shoot!

You were there from her very earliest years of Aaliyah's tomboy phase, to seeing the very woman she grew into becoming. Thank you for always replying back to the fans and sharing and showing that love through all your candid, fondest memories. May you rest in peace eternally King. You will never be forgotten....Peace love and light....🙏🏽❤

Aaliyah Archives News: Aaliyah's Legacy

Let's talk about Aaliyah's legacy, a woman who could do it all...sing, model, act and dance. An impact so influential that she still continues to inspire to this very day, so what does her legacy have to show for it?

As some of you may be aware, Aaliyah's legacy has been through all the trials and tribulations, from Wendy 'Wendell' Williams Lifetime Biopic movie, to the 'Surviving R.Kelly' docu-series, not to mention her music not being available on streaming platforms! The very craft that Aaliyah put all her hard-work into, ultimately losing her life from what she loved doing the most. So what exactly is the catch and what exactly is going on?

A lot of fans have been left so disappointed and outraged at the level of incompetence from Aaliyah's estate that it has left a lot of us questioning their integrity and motives. Yesterday, a lot of commotion surrounding Aaliyah's official YouTube page broke out as news came out that it is not run by Aaliyah's estate but by a fan. A message was left on the 'community' section of YouTube where the fan of that page posted this...

Interestingly enough a lot of fans have forgotten about the main official channel which was originally run by the estate. The page was called Aaliyah Official which had a HQ version of Aaliyah's MTV Diary. Unfortunately due to copyright reasons the video was taken down by Viacom, and since then nothing new has been added to the channel, which was started back in 2015. The fan of that YouTube account also posted another message which you can read below here...

Honestly...I commend this fan for even having this YouTube account, as if it wasn't for them, half of the music videos that we have today would cease to exist!! Let that sink in! As each year goes by, Aaliyah's legacy is slowly fading away...If it wasn't for us fans holding it down for all these years, no one would even know who Aaliyah was period. Until her music is released on streaming platforms, I honestly cannot see the silver lining upon the heavenly clouds...

Wow....this was truly heartfelt! 😭💔 I've always loved Mariah since I was little, but to know how much of an impact Aaliyah's death had not only on her fans, but those like Mariah Carey!?

Just wow...this is why I always say to people that just because someone is famous does not mean that they do not go through the same things as us. They may have all the money, and the luxury, but they are human too. Mental health is so important! 🙏🏽❤
