🔁 via @tejralexander who shared this lovely rare pic of Aaliyah and @monicadenise from her documentary 'The Story Of 'Miss Thang' Part 1 - Southside'. Thank you so much for sharing and thanks to @aaliyah_spain and @ultimate.aaliyah for the tag! 😊❤ You can watch the full video below here. Enjoy!
"The woman and so-called back up singer in the forthcoming "Surviving..." documentary that describes seeing,
meeting or ever breathing the same air as my daughter, Aaliyah, is lying and is a liar. My husband and I were always on tour with her and at interviews and every place she went throughout her entire career. Whoever this woman is, I have never seen her before anywhere on planet earth, until now.
These lies and fabrications cannot be tolerated and allowed to be spewed from the forked tongues of saboteurs of Aaliyah's legacy. My daughter only wanted to realize her dream of sharing her talent with the world, and give her all performing on stage, and in front of the camera for the fans she adored so much. She realized that dream, thanks to those true fans who still love and support her legacy unconditionally to this day.
Shame on all those involved in this project who thought it kosher to drag Aaliyah's name into a situation that has nothing to do with her today. Once again, this will not be tolerated.
Sincerely,
Diane Haughton"
⚠️IMPORTANT MESSAGE⚠️
Hi Team Aaliyah, It has come to our attention that Aaliyah’s Mother Diane Haughton has reached out to a fan as a call of action for the 'Special Ones' (As she so lovingly calls us) with this direct quote in response to the “#Lifetime Surviving R.Kelly” Documentary.
Please forward this message and quote to anyone and everyone you know via all your social media platforms, websites, blogs etc… It is urgent that we do this ASAP as the documentary is set to air on the 4th January. ‘Lietime’ did it once, and yet again they’re still trying the most smh…🤦🏽♀️
With #Aaliyah not being able to defend herself, WE as a fanbase need to ALL come together and show them that we ain’t come to play, and neither has Mama Diane. With #Aaliyah in our hearts, let’s defend and honour her precious name, which they really need to keep out of their foul mouths! 💁🏽♀️
Here is the original source of what the documentary entails…
🔁 via @theofficialamorphous:"(Link in bio). ‘AALIYAH - The Inside Look’ premiered on YouTube two days after Aaliyah’s death anniversary, as a loving two hour fan-made documentary created by myself. Though it used footage from various media outlets, and music from Aaliyah’s and many other artists’ catalog that I clearly do not own, the film was non-profit and made to showcase Aaliyah’s life, the way it should be documented and celebrated. Also, all of the footage/music that was featured in the film is available on YouTube, uploaded by people who clearly do not own the material as well.
A day after the documentary was released to rave reviews & media coverage, over twenty-five thousand views and endless comments praising the film, Reservoir Media (Merlin), removed the film from YouTube due to “copyright infringement”. Reservoir had already given my account two strikes twice just days before, for sharing my Aaliyah mashups with the world. Thus, my entire account was removed from YouTube.
Many fans, including myself, feel that this is a personal attack on me. All of Aaliyah’s music is uploaded to YouTube by people who clearly do not have the “rights” to upload them. Plenty of mashups including the same exact songs that I used are still up with millions of views. This is unfair. This does not make sense.
Though available on www.aaliyahtheinsidelook.com releasing the fan-made documentary to YouTube was the most logical way to get it seen by as many fans as possible.
I am asking Reservoir to retract their copyright infringement claims, and allow the release of the film. If you truly enjoyed 'AALIYAH - The Inside Look’, I ask of you, truly, to sign this petition. Her story deserves to be told the right way. #Aaliyah"
I’m not even surprised by that treacherous snake! 😩😒 He really doesn’t want people to remember Aaliyah at all, yet he’s sitting on a full stack of music which he selfishly refuses to make accessible for the fans! Aaliyah worked too damn hard not to have her music available for her adoring fans to have. Like I said before…the truth shall continue to be exposed and prevail 💅 Please show your support by signing the petition via...
You can also help by spreading the word to all your friends and family on all your social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter etc... Every signature obtained helps towards bringing this documentary back on YouTube for ALL fans to view at their leisure, as well as remembering a woman who impacted many lives.🙏💚
The wait is finely over #TeamAaliyah! As promised Amorphous has released his full Aaliyah documentary 'Aaliyah: The Inside Look' (it was originally meant to be released on the 25th, but due to 8 hours of exporting the 2 hour video, we can forgive him for that! 😉). Besides, I prefer people to take their time when it comes to Babygirl, as apposed to rushing. Aaliyah herself was known for being a perfectionist, thus, we should similarly take the same approach for whatever we do concerning our beloved angel 🙏💚
Having just finished watching the documentary (Pre-warning – make sure y'all keep those tissues ready for all those emotional parts! 😢) it has just confirmed to me what I felt from watching the trailers alone. By far, one of the best visual documentaries I have seen for years! Everything was done so tastefully, where you feel captivated and drawn from the very beginning. The video production, editing, sound editing, music choice, narration, facts etc... (the list 'goes on and on and on...') were all spot on and flowed beautifully in a professional manner. I know that this video was not made for any monetary gain, but if I were ever to see a DVD copy of this, I would hands down buy it. I've seen countless documentaries in the past where some facts have not been told correctly, or lack certain parts of Aaliyah's early life, career and the friends who accompanied her.
Made by a fan, for the fans, you can tell that a lot of hard work, passion and dedication has been taken in throughly to produce such a heartfelt, emotional film of a woman who touched all boys, girls, men and women. Be it a 'Young Nation' fan or an older generation fan, we can learn a lot about Aaliyah's life just by watching this. I know for one that I definitely learnt some new things I did not know before (I especially loved the music chart receipts from the UK, which if you don't know by now is where I am from 😎). It just generally made me feel so proud to be a fan of hers, and knowing how much love Aaliyah had for her fans, so that was really insightful and refreshing to know.
Personally speaking, I'm quite a strong person so I knew I would get teary eyed watching this particular documentary. Never in my life did I imagine the 11 year old child in me to be bawling out my eyes, feeling that same pain I felt that very same day on hearing the news of her passing. It really touched my heart in ways I never thought imaginable. It was like some of my grieving process was still repressed from all those years ago, taking a trip down memory lane, and re-living all those moments I remember watching live on TV as a young kid (both the good and bad).
All in all this is a MUST watch for ALL fans and for future generations to come. No matter how hard people try to cover, re-invent or change history, the truth shall always prevail and set Aaliyah, Diane, Michael and Rashad Haughton free. Aaliyah may not be able to speak for herself, but we as fans are her voice, alongside her family (minus Barry Hankerson of course, who I constantly cursed at every time he was shown throughout the film! LOL 😂)
Jimir, I want to personally thank you for all the hard work and effort you put into making this documented video of Aaliyah's life. You've put your whole heart, soul, sweat, blood and tears into making something that was truly worth the wait. I wish you nothing but success in your future endeavours and hope that other professionals can take head and follow suit on how to create something through the right means, with the utmost respect towards Aaliyah's legacy. 🙏💚

What's good #TeamAaliyah? 😊 I've been meaning to post this particular piece for a while but didn't get around to it until now. As you all know we have a love for any project relating to our beloved Babygirl, so when we came across 'AALIYAH: The Inside Look'by the one and onlyAmorphous (A.k.a- Jimir Reece Davis who has also worked on many other Aaliyah projects including the22 EP, and'Highest Most Exalted One'from last year), we couldn't resist but to share it with you all! From what we have seen, the documentary has been handled in the utmost professionalism that any fan would love and appreciate.
Personally, having watched many documentaries myself in regards to Babygirl, I can whole hardheartedly say that this is the best thing I have seen in years! Everything from the narration, facts, images and production shows a level of respect and homage that will continue to add on to the never ending legacy of our highest, most exalted queen. The documentary is set to be released on the 25th August which falls on the 16th anniversary (Wow...can't believe it's been that many years!) Below you can read a detailed synopsis of what the documentary entails...
"Created solely by upcoming producer and filmmaker, Amorphous (Jimir Reece Davis), AALIYAH - The Inside Look delves into the short yet meaningful life of the entertainment legend Aaliyah. Through his eyes as a beloved fan, experience getting to fall in love with Aaliyah, once again, as we take a look at her life and everlasting legacy up until 2017. "As the sole creator of the documentary, this project has been such a daunting task - yet I am so proud of what I have been able to achieve. Aaliyah has been an integral part of my life ever since I was four years old. I have created Aaliyah tributes ever since I was six, and last year I even was able to release my Aaliyah tribute remix EP through Paper Magazine. However, ever since I was little, I have dreamed of creating a documentary that truly documents everything in her life, presented in a format which could rival those of big budget documentaries. And finally, years later, I can say that I have accomplished that." - Amorphous/Jimir Reece Davis.
AALIYAH - The Inside Look premieres on August 25th, 2017 on Youtube."
You can also watch his most recent sneak peak below to give you a little taster of what to expect, as well as visiting his website www.aaliyahtheinsidelook.comto view the rest of his trailers! I honestly cannot wait to see this, and I'm sure Aaliyah would be more than beyond proud of you! 🙏💚 Keep up the fantastic work!❤️
On the 15th anniversary of Aaliyah's passing, photographer Jonathan Mannion was featured on a live interview broadcast courtesy of VICE. Mannion talked about his early works, as well as personal, in-depth stories of iconic artists whom he worked with alongside his journey. He also mentions how he fell in love with photography, becoming one of the most important photographers throughout Hip-Hop history and culture.
I was very eager to see this video and noticed that it was only available for US citizens. I thought this was pretty unfair since something as interesting as this, should be shared with everyone. So I managed to pull a few strings for my international fans out there! Enjoy! ;)

Now as you all know, Aaliyah.com has been given a new, fresh look, for the start of 2015. If that's not all, they have also been kind enough to give us HD footage of Aaliyah's MTV Diary in HD quality! I always say that there isn't enough HD video's of Aaliyah's interviews and performances, so finally things seem to be looking towards a positive light. If you haven't already, be sure to subscribe to the official Aaliyah.com youtube channel which goes by the name of Aaliyah Official. Once you've done that, sit back, relax and enjoy the video below! ;) One love ♥
What's good people! :o) Here's a radio documentary/interview from BBC 1Xtra (UK radio station) which aired in 2011. The audio content itself features the likes of well known TV presenter, particularly known for presenting MTV Base –Trevor Nelson. I remember when I came across this during the time where I was just bored, and as you do, you start to browse pages, next thing you know, I came across this picture of Babygirl (the one above) and I was like hold up! What's this? lol! To my eyes I was so delighted and happy that I wanted to share this content for people who live overseas, especially since it is such a rare thing for fans to come by when the radio station is in another country! To find out a little more about this radio documentary, peep the synopsis below to find out what is outlined. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did. Have a good day/evening wherever you are! Peace! :o)
Synopsis
Ten years after Aaliyah's premature death, Trevor Nelson looks back on the life of a woman who helped re-define R&B and explores her long-lasting influence on musicians today.
We get a picture of her early musical beginnings, appearing on TV talent show Star Search at age eleven and touring with her famous auntie, soul singer Gladys Knight, with an interview from her vocal coach of that time.
Then we hear about her first appearances in the charts, working alongside R&B songwriter star R. Kelly, who took Aaliyah on as his hip-hop soul protégée and made some unforgettable 90's hits. However, as scandalous rumours erupted and tarred Aaliyah's name, she made the decision to move on.
What came next would completely change the face of R&B music. We talk to Craig Kallman, who decided to introduce Aaliyah to little known producer-writer duo Timbaland and Missy Elliott. Artists such as Sway, Brenmar and Ny reflect on how the relationship between Timbaland and Aaliyah has affected the way they write music. Here we learn how the risks Aaliyah took to experiment with pop music have influenced the biggest artists of today such as Rihanna and Katy B.
We discover how Aaliyah embarked on a successful acting career, with help from acclaimed director of Queen of The Damned Michael Rymer. As she was filming for this movie, she was recording her final album at the same time - and it would be the shooting of a video for one of the tracks on this album that led to Aaliyah's untimely death in a plane crash. Close friend and stylist Derek Lee talks us through Aaliyah's last days.
Through hearing about Aaliyah's past and getting an understanding of her influence on the present, we are left with an impression of why this woman was so loved and should still be celebrated in 2011.
Part 1 of a 5 part series looking at legendary black music stars who were all unfortunately Gone Too Soon.
As you all know, today marks Babygirl's 12 year death anniversary. For me, I always tend to have mixed feelings on this particular day, as it is also my fathers birthday. So on one side of the spectrum it denotes a time to celebrate a life that began, and on the other side it shows a time where we remember a person who's life was tragically taken away and ended. Either way both have one thing in common, and that's remembering and honoring that persons life whether they be alive or no longer with us in the physical form.
No words can describe during that very day how I felt, when I found out about the news of Aaliyah's passing. I think that we can all agree as fans, that we will remember exactly what we were doing during that time, when we heard the news. It's also crazy to think that's it's already been 12 years! Time just flies by hey? As a tribute here's a fan made video using a track which was in remembrance of Babygirl from Missy Elliot called Take Away. You can find this song on Missy's third studio album titled Miss E... So Addictive. The track also features guest appearances from Ginuwine and Tweet who feature on the main single version, in comparison to the album version which features background vocals from 702's group member Kameelah Williams. This song is very touching and heartfelt, and the video embodies the beautiful person that she was inside and out.
I'm also sharing with you guys a tribute made video titled 'The Creation Of The Aaliyah Tribute' from Necole Bitchiewho posted this two years ago. You'll find a variety of celebrities/artists who talk about what they found most endearing and inspiring about our beloved Babygirl. Gone but never forgotten, here's to keeping her music and memory alive. You truly were an angel. R.I.P.

Here is the second compilation album which includes two CD's and one DVD which features a range of interviews, promo clips, special features and documentaries. You can check out a one of these down below. The first CD showcases all of Aaliyah's greatest hits, but leaves out a majority of her other hits like Age Ain't Nothing But A Number and Journey To The Past. Which is quite surprising because you would think an album titled Ultimate Aaliyah would show all of her work from beginning to end. However I do like the extra tracks on the second CD showing some of Aaliyah's lesser known featured artist tracks such as Man Undercover and John Blaze.
Here is one of the documentaries you will find on the DVD. I originally had the videos saved on Youtube, but someone decided to delete them (typical hey!). So I have given you the links to each part from my very own research. Please sit back and enjoy this very detailed documentary on Babgirl's musical journey. It was quite tough watching some of these interviews within my research without feeling emotional, so just a heads up for you guys out there and keep that tissue box beside you.
Here is a full length interview and documentary of Aaliyah's final studio album where she gives us an insight on the meaning of each track recorded, and also showing us a behind the scenes look at the making of the video We Need A Resolution. There is also feedback from the likes of Timbaland, Static Major and other writers/producers who share their input on the album. Watch and enjoy guys! :o)
