🔁 via @delacruzofficial:“#happybirthday #belated #aaliyah#babygirl I had the pleasure early on in my career to have worked with this #triplethreat it was a joy to have participated in several projects. She was a genuine soul she will forever be missed! #rip#restinheaven and yes that is the same hat she wore for that photo shoot” | OMG!! Now these pics are LIFE! Thank you so much for sharing! 🙏🏽💚
A big shoutout to @kboogieartzmedia for bringing this to my attention :D As you are all aware, whenever we come across any live performances from Aaliyah, the quality of the video posts never seem to be the best quality, which is quite a shame for all of us fans. Even Vevo, despite being known for uploading HD videos for other artists, they always seem to be a let down when it comes to Babygirl. However, to my surprise Vevo have actually uploaded a HD quality version of Aaliyah's performance at The Apollo, performing If Your Girl Only Knew from her second studio album, One In A Million. I have to say, that this is the best version that I've seen so far, you can really hear the depth and tone of her voice through this performance, as well as the chanting from the audience! :D Watch the full video below to enjoy to your hearts content! ;) One Love
The amount of Halloween tributes I have seen amazes me. Y'all look better than 'Shipwreck' lol! Here are a few of my favorite ones which I encountered. These ladies definitely killed it! ;)
And last but not least, here's a commercial print ad of Aaliyah's One In A Million album launch, using a very rare photo. I love the quotation at the top where it says "Unexplainable, unobtainable, unforgettable". Those words still have relevance to Babygirl even today. Crazy right?
Here is a collection of all the hit singles from One In A Million. Now obviously, when you have a producer like Timbaland you are bound to find remixes of the original. One in particular that you'll find below would be Hot Like Fire. I actually prefer both versions with the original being very jazzy and soulful in comparison to the remix, which is very edgy and Hip-Hop oriented. Although majority of the other songs were remixed too, I shall get back to you guys on the remix collections at a later date, since there are so many to list, I would rather have them all together in one post where it is easier for you to find. So stay tuned for that! :o)
If you are a true Babygirl fan you will notice that Aaliyah had a lot of family and friends in the background of her videos with people such as Lil Kim, her brother Rashad Haughton and even her very own mother and father! Anyhoo, please feel free to share and enjoy all these forever classics, from a very classy woman. :o)
